Exhibition On Screen: Cézanne Portraits Of A Life 2018
Plot Synopsis
Called "the father of us all" by both Matisse and Picasso, Paul Cézanne went against tradition and painted the world as he saw it - in spheres, cylinders and cones. His most famous works - including "The Card Players" and "The Artist's Father" - bridged the gap between Impressionism and Cubism. Instead of focusing on expression and action, Cézanne's portraits were audacious in their use of colours and framing, emphasising perspectives and perception. Along the life journey of Cezanne's, this film is an in-depth examination of the master's perspective of the world, and how he awestruck Picasso, Matisse, Monet and other veteran artists.
